Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)
The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) provides much more than just statistics. Our
strength comes from our people who have specialisations in many diverse fields of statistics
and offer a broad range of skills. We:
- design and conduct the five yearly national Census of Population and Housing
- design and conduct complex surveys such as the Household Expenditure Survey and the Economic Activity Survey
- analyse the data collected to provide meaningful and high quality statistics, which are widely used by
governments and businesses, as well as the media
- provide statistical consultancy , modelling and analysis , training and support
- evaluate survey effectiveness and conduct reviews of methodologies.
The ABS has offices in each State/Territory of Australia. The contact details for the State/Territory

Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW)
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare ( AIHW ) is Australia's national agency for health and
welfare statistics and information. our mission is to improve the health and well-being of Australians,
we inform community discussion and decision making through national leadership in developing and providing
health and welfare statistics and information.

Disability Studies and Research Centre (DSARC)
Established in July 2008, the Disability Studies and Research Centre (DSARC) is a national centre aligned with the Social Policy
Research Centre, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Law at the University of New South Wales. DSARC's
innovative approach to disability studies focuses on applied Australian Asia Pacific cross-disciplinary research with a critical,
social perspective approach. DSRC promotes the social perspective of disability in education and research to maximise Australia's
capacity to ensure an equitable, participatory and accessible society for people with disability. Through its cross-disciplinary
education program, DSRC contributes to both undergraduate and postgraduate applied degree programs. It offers a mentoring program
for researchers, particularly people with a disability.
