Ability Incorporated Advocacy Service is funded to advocate and support people
with disabilities, their families and carers. The service is free to consumers.
A person can access the service if they have a disability that has an; acquired
brain injury, sensory, or physical impairment, or a combination of such, and is
permanent or likely to be permanent and the person must have a need for ongoing
support services. Ability Incorporated welcomes parents and service providers to
seek information and support whenever needed.

Challenge Disability Services commenced in Tamworth in 1958 as the Tamworth and District

Citizen Advocacy
Citizen Advocacy is a community-based program which aims to recognize, promote and protect the

Penrith Disabilities Resource Centre Inc. (PDRC)
Penrith Disabilities Resource Centre Inc. (PDRC) is funded by Government to resource and
support people with disabilities who live, work in, and /or utilise services based in the
Penrith Local Government Area and/or surrounding areas. Though the service caters for the
needs of people with all types of disabilities, we specialise in the needs of people with
physical disabilities. PDRC had two main functions: to provide a local Disabilities Information,
Referral and Advocacy Service for people with all types of disabilities, their families, carers,
and advocates; and to work together with local residents with disabilities to raise issues and
concerns that affects them directly.

People with Disability Australia (PWDA)
People with Disability Australia Incorporated is a national peak disability rights
and advocacy organisation. Its primary membership is made up of people with disability
and organisations primarily constituted by people with disability. Services include the
Individual and Group Advocacy Service, which is a free, non-legal advocacy service for
individuals and groups of people with disability who have serious and urgent problems.
Available to people with all kinds of disability across NSW. The service also gives
advice and information to people with disability and their associates about how advocate
for themselves. Other services offered by PWDA include: systemic advocacy; information and education.

Self Advocacy Sydney
Self Advocacy Sydney is an organisation run by and for people with Intellectual Disability.
The aim of Self Advocacy Sydney Inc is to support people with intellectual disability be a part
of the community and to have the same rights as people who don't have a disability and to do
this by involving their families when they can and should be involved.
Short Statured People of Australia (SSPA) New South Wales
The SSPA aims to advance equal opportunities in education, employment and the community
for persons of short stature; provide support and work towards the removal of disadvantages
involving persons of short stature; provide opportunities for fellowship in social activities;
and encourage each other, by example, to live a full and happy life. Membership is open to all
