FEDERAL

Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services (Office of Carers and Disability)
The Office provides a direct link between the disability and carer communities and government, working towards improving access, and encouraging the involvement of people with disabilities as members of the community. This is achieved through developing policies that respond to the needs of people with disabilities and their carers, including their capacities for participation. These include managing disability and carer specific income support and compensation provisions; raising the awareness of Commonwealth organisations and businesses about making their services, facilities and employment opportunities accessible; and working with the State and Territory governments to fund support services.

TASMANIA

Disability Services Program (Tasmanian Department of Health & Human Services)
The Disability Services program is made up of several teams that focus on delivering the following services through the regional offices: Information and Education; Respite; Short Term Support; Service Coordination; Resource Support; Day Options; Residential Services. The Regional Offices of Disability Services act as a point of contact for people with disabilities. The Service will respond to each referral on an individual basis and determine the type and extent of assistance provided according to the person's presenting need.

ACT Disability Advisory Council
