Australian Broadcasting Authority (ABA)
The Australian Broadcasting Authority (ABA) is an independent federal statutory body responsible
for the regulation of free-to-air, radio and television, pay TV, digital broadcasting and internet
content in Australia. The ABA can assist consumers who have complaints regarding programs on television
and radio. Consumers who have complaints should first contact their relevant station to make their complaint.

Australian Press Council
The Australian Press Council is the self-regulatory body of the print media. It was established to help
preserve the traditional freedom of the press within Australia and ensure that the free press acts
responsibly and ethically. It serves as a forum to which anyone may take a complaint concerning the
press, except for advertising, and keeps a watching brief on developments, which might impinge on such freedoms.

Advertising Standards Board
The Advertising Standards Board deals with consumer complaints about advertisements in the mainstream
media which people find offensive (such as through their use of language, depiction of violence,
discrimination, etc). It makes its determinations using the Australian Association of National
Advertisers' Advertiser Code of Ethics. The Board is part of the advertising industry's self-regulation
system and its work is funded by a levy on national advertisers. Board members come from a range of
backgrounds and their role is to interpret prevailing community standards about advertising.

Office of Film and Literature Classification
The Office of Film & Literature Classification is the Australian Government agency that administers
the national classification scheme for all films, computer games and submittable publications that
are exhibited, sold or hired in Australia. These classification decisions are made by members of the
Classification Board who are representative of the wider Australian community. Decisions may be reviewed
by the Classification Review Board.
